That's a wrap for the 2012 season! Team GAC Pindar finished 5th overall in the 2012 Extreme Sailing Series after the eight Acts throughout the year. Racing wrapped up yesterday and the boats were loaded in containers today. The doors were locked shut moments ago.

Hot Temps : Hot Racing

It was exciting and close racing all around the track today in the eight races sailed at Act 8 of the Extreme Sailing Series here in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. With thermometers in town reading 37 degrees Celsius at 10 am as we headed for the boat, we knew we were in for a hot day, but the wind came in and provided fantastic breeze for eight races where we were finally able to move up the leader board by one place to seventh.

More Ups Than Downs Today In Rio

It was again another up and down day, but for us on Team GAC Pindar, we had a lot more ups than yesterday thankfully at Act 8 of the Extreme Sailing Series. With eight races sailed we came home with a 1, 2, 3, 4 in four of them. Although it didn't raise us up the leader board overall, we did close the gap a little on points heading into the final two days of racing.

Act 8 Extreme 40's - Day 1

It was a bit of a day of snakes and ladders as skipper Andrew Walsh called it after the second race of today in Act 8, the final act of the Extreme Sailing Series here in Rio. Unfortunately for Team GAC Pindar, we found more snakes than ladders today. After six races, we are towards the bottom of the results table, but have our eyes set on climbing back up over the next three days of racing.

4th Overall At Act 7, Extreme Sailing Series

It was a tough day on the water today, the final day of racing at Act 7 of the Extreme Sailing Series here in Nice, France. However, Team GAC Pindar held onto their fourth place overall rank in the regatta despite a few challenging races.

Lying In 4th Going Into The Final Day Tomorrow

It was a good day for Team GAC Pindar today, the penultimate day of racing, at Act 7 of the Extreme Sailing Series. Nine races were completed with Team GAC Pindar winning three of them, moving us up to 4th place overall, only four points off the podium.

Reasonable Day Despite Torn Sail/Raft-Ups

Ten races were completed in the three hours of racing this afternoon at Act 7 of the Extreme Sailing Series. We had, what felt like, a reasonably good day, although one or two unfortunate mishaps lost us a couple vital points. That said, we are sitting in 5th place overall, just 10 points out of first place.

Day 1, ESS Act 7 Cancelled - Big Winds/Waves

Today was the first official day of racing of Act 7 of the Extreme Sailing Series. Unfortunately, the weather did not co-oporate and after several failed attempts to set a course and get marks to hold in the deep water, big waves and an increasing breeze that produced gusts of 30+kts, teams were sent ashore under postponement before racing was cancelled for the day shortly after 4:30pm.

First Overall At The CMRC Autumn Invite 'A' Regatta

We won today at the Chicago Match Race Center Autumn A Invitational regatta. We won both our semi finals and finals with a 3-0 record to take the top spot for the two day Grade 3 event.

Two Round Robins Completed : Semis, Finals/Petit Finals To Come

It was a long day on the water but the race committee did a great job of completing 14 flights, two complete round robins, today at the CMRC Autumn A regatta. We had a good end to the day that brought our record up to 9-3, qualifying us second for the semifinals.

Team Maclaren Back Together For CMRC Gr3

debbie_c Debbie just added another great result to her resume after finishing second at the US Match Racing Nationals this past weekend. Now, Team Maclaren is back racing together this Thursday and Friday at the Chicago Match Race Center Grade 3 Invitational A regatta.
