Successful Day, 7-0; Into The Gold RR

Day two of the ISAF Women's Match Race World Championships was another beautiful day, once the wind finally filled in around 11:30am. The sun came out and and the wind settled in around 10-12kts to provide near perfect match racing conditions again. We had three races today against the top seeded teams in our group and won all three races to take our scoreline to 7-0 after the first round robin.

Good First Day At ISAF WMR World Championships

It was an amazingly beautiful day with pefect match racing conditions at ISAF Women's Match Racing World Championships today, held in Gothenberg, Sweden. After the first day of racing, we have a 4-0 record heading into the second half of the round robin tomorrow.

Bronze At Skandia Sail For Gold

We won the bronze medal today at the 2012 Skandia Sail for Gold regatta after defeating Team Skudina (RUS) in a one race petit finals. Our third place finish also gave us the ISAF Sailing World Cup Women's Match Racing title for the second year running.

Unfortunately there was no racing today so this will be a short blog. The winds that blew in last night held throughout the day resulting in the organizers having to cancel for the day around 2:30pm.

Two Races Then Big Winds Cancelled Racing

It was a short day for the match racers today as only two races were completed for each group before we were sent ashore and then later cancelled for the day as the winds started to reach 50kts. But despite it being short, it was successful and we won our two races to finish the seeding round third overall.

Quarter Finals Tomorrow : Expecting Big Winds

It was a day of mixed feelings for Team Maclaren. We sailed some great races and came up just short which was frustrating, but on a positive note, we made the gold round and therefore secured a spot into the quarterfinals. After three races in the gold round we are tied at third with four teams at 1-2.
